Iranian poet's narration of Adam and Eve , in American favorite anthology

Tehran -- The long poem narrating the Adam and Eve story by Iranian poet Abbas Saffari is included in a recent edition of the favorite anthology of literature for American students.
Entitled “Our Story”, the poem is a modern parody based on the story of Adam and Eve. The English version of the work appeared on Words without Borders, an online magazine for literature, with the translation by Elham Raasi.
The poem was added to the 9th edition of “Literature: The Human Experience”, a favorite anthology for American students since about therty years ago, as one of the subsections in the book’s “Looking Farther: Forbidden Love” part.
The Words without Borders website called the poem “a witty, romantic retelling of the Quranic version of the story of Adam and Eve”.
Abbas Saffari was born in 1951 in Yazd, Iran and has lived in the U.S. since 1979. He studied sculpture at California State University, Long Beach, and currently resides in Long Beach
